From 1800s motorcycles have made their way from the early design and the various types that are available in the market today. Early motorcycles were the motorized version of bicycles with same size of wheel.

Motorcycles are classified on the basis of types, designs and purpose in the present days. Motorcycle are generally categorized under six types. They are cruiser, touring sport, dual purpose and dirt bike. Sport-touring motorcycles are included as an extra category sometimes. From 1930s American machines cruisers are styled. From The riding position actually places the feet forward in these bikes and the hands are up relatively a bit higher than the usual positions, and the back is slightly leaning back. They provide comfortable rides at a moderate speed and are not suggested for a long run. Chopper is known as the subcategory of cruisers.

Next is the sport bike. Sport bike punctuate speed, acceleration, breaking and control over paved roads. Sports bikes have high performance engines inside a lightweight frame. Advanced system of suspension is available in these bikes.

Touring motorcycles are for covering long - distances, as the name suggests. They offer air protection, front screens, and are equipped with engines which have large displacements. Fuel tank of this bike are relatively bigger in size than any other bikes because they are meant for covering long distances. Now when we are looking for excitement and fun the category of dirt bikes comes in. Dirt bikes are light weight bikes having good engines with great acceleration and power. The frame of a dirt bike is also less durable if compared to other bikes. Racing over rough and muddy terrain or performing death defying jumps are the uses of this bike.

At times they can be driven to enter off-roads and the machine that can be used in the road. This bike is based on the basis of chassis of the dirt bike and have added lights and instruments which allow them for entering public roads. The concept of scooters is not very new to the world. Scooter have been sold over fifty years now, but have been developed with immeasurably style but the concept of 125cc model is still same which provides convenient travel at low cost. Various styles of scooters are their in scooter in modern days starting from the retro styled to the modern ones with sharp and cool graphics and edges.

A scooter has a lot of advantages over other vehicles; the cost of a scooter is very low compared to a car. When compared to four wheeler the fuel consumption is insignificant. Now the basic rule is that smaller the engine size, the better the mileage. The engine size results in less power and low top speed has to be kept in the mind.
