This prosperity seen over the last century came with its own repercussion So many people shifted from the rural to the urban The basic amenities could not cope up with this sudden influx of humans and so the ever growing pollution could not be curbed or brought under control. This list has become critical and unmanageable.
This has become more of an inherent character of third world countries People are littering all over and nobody care what will happen to the waste Strange that it is difficult for people in general to understand that all this waste put together can be harmful for our health AS they are not biodegradable, which means that they will not degrade with time and will remain wherever they have been thrown
There are several ways to take care of this waste It is important that to make these measures effective every one participates in this waste management, or else they will half good effect only It needs the full participation There will be no need to have part of community committed to waste management while the others are busy doing the contrary Waste management needs the commitment of the whole people responsible for the mess
The source needs to be checked on top priority. If the society is told the importance of waste management then that will act as a first step Each family should know how to manage waste at the household level This will involve having knowledge of the different type of waste they are handling These are the two types of waste that we need to know about
They both effect environment in their own ways The biodegradable waste is able to decompose This harmful waste will only release poisonous toxins and pollute the environment. If this knowledge is passed to them then, they should know why the two type of waste need to collected differently
This type of waste is manageable to a certain extent. There are some families that make new recycled goods out of this non- biodegradable waste This is the best waste management for refuse like plastics, glasses, metal and many others However, this will never be practical if there are no recycling plants and that is what is affecting many third world countries Which means that the entire exercise of educating them goes down the drain. We have very few private recycling plants that cannot handle the huge amount of waste being thrown every day
Lets think sincerely about this We are the ones to get affected by the pollution Why ignore such an important issue thinking that we will take it up later , for the later never comes. Individuals should each take responsibility, because refuse is not thrown by a crowd but an individual Every single person who does not pay heed to this seven now is adding to the problem every day
