Every blogger knows the value of loyal readers that keep coming back for more. If you don't have a loyal readership you won't get reliable results from the efforts you put in to your blog so building a loyal and reliable readership base is something that needs to be one of your priorities. Creating a sticky blog and building reader counts is not something that every blogger is able to do and that is usually because they don't focus on the basics. There are tons of things that you can do on your blog, which aren't really that difficult to apply, but can make a huge difference in the long run.

Do all of the things you think of that can help turn one time readers into regulars. A good way to do this is to add a "subscribe to comments" feature to your blog. This doesn't seem like much but it gives readers the ability to subscribe to the comments on a post. If, for example, a post is getting lots of interesting comments people are going to want to follow that conversation and will appreciate the opportunity to subscribe to it. This will alert them whenever a new response gets posted and inspires them to return for participation again and again. It might seem too simple but it gives you great results. Secondly, when you notice that a particular post on your blog is getting lots of traffic, it's time to leverage it to the highest extent. It's easy to link posts to each other within your site and when those links go to similar posts, you provide extra value to your readers and encourage them to become regular visitors to your site. It's easy to create a post that follows up on that certain post so that the reader has the opportunity to learn more about that topic. There are lots of ways to build a stronger presence for your blog when you get a traffic spike.

Finally, perhaps the best way to increase your blog's stick rate is to work on your branding. This will help your blog stand out from the rest and your new visitors will be able to instantly recognize the strong brand value and understand the main aim of your blog. You need to be able to infuse this brand into your content, your logo, your site design and everything else you're using to strengthen your professional image to your readers. This will build an unique selling point for your blog that can help you build your readership base. All in all, building a successful blog is all about creating a balance between traffic generation and creating good content. If you have a lot of regular readers visiting your blog, you won't have to do a lot to find new sources of traffic. Your existing readers will like your content and spread the word. So it's important to focus on the quality of your blog and make sure you do whatever you can to raise your stick rate; everything else will simply fall in place.
