After this whole rant, the show manages to screw with my whole thesis by going with a 2 minute fart joke instead of a 2 minute gag about how silly it is to live in India. And then it has the gall to go with what is apparently an overarching plot! Mind you, none of this cracked a smile at my apartment, where I forced two of my friends and my step-brother to endure this episode with me. But still, maybe this show isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. We get back to the basic premise briefly here and there, but even the B-plot of the episode is character driven. The assistant manager of the call-center is trying to appease his employees before they give him their annual evaluations. It's basic, sure, but it's not poorly managed.

I couldn't find the writer credit for the episode online, but I'd be interested in going back and seeing what they did on the show prior to this, or if this is simply a fluke of an episode. Honestly, if the show were more like this every week, I could even see myself hunting it down to watch on my own. If it got a few steps better than this, it would actually be somewhat worthy of a spot on the NBC Comedy Night Done Right line-up.

I don't have high hopes for the next episode, but I can finally see an universe in which I can tolerate Outsourced enough, or maybe even like it.

Episode Summary: Todd learns that Charlie has feelings for Tonya, and he encourages him to ask Tonya out. Trying to help Charlie, Todd organizes a group dinner, that ends up benefiting him when his secret crush comes to the dinner. Unfortunately for Charlie and Todd, a fifth wheel is added to the dinner making everyone uncomfortable.
