There are many detoxification products or programs for weight loss nowadays, do they really work? Well, they work for some people but for others, these products are totally useless. Why there are mixed results? Why some people find succeed in losing weight using detoxification while others fail? This article attempts to answer all these questions.
Firstly, what is detox and why do we need it? Simply put, detox is a process of flushing out toxins that have been accumulated inside our body. We all know that we are living in a world that is full of pollutants both in the air and in our foods. Our bodies are collecting toxins everyday. For example, there are many chemicals and preservatives found in processed foods like: caffeine, sugar, sodium, and pesticides. All these stuffs can cause havoc to our health, they can make us feeling very sluggish and sick.
A detox diet most often contains only natural foods, juices, and herbs that help your organs function properly and flush the toxins out of your body.
Here are some common foods and herbs well known for their cleansing abilities:
Watercress - a leafy green plant known for its ability to help release excess water from the body and aid liver function.
Garlic - stimulates the liver and helps it cleanse the body more effectively.
Lemons - well known for their ability to help flush toxins from the body.
Water - drinking lots of fresh, filtered water is an important part of any detox plan.
Vegetable juices - drinking the juice of organic vegetables is said to help cleanse the body and flush out toxins - virtually all vegetable juices are beneficial in various ways.
Psyllium fiber - cleansing the colon is important for releasing toxins from the body. If your diet doesn't contain enough fiber, a daily psyllium fiber supplement can be helpful (be sure to drink plenty of water too).
Now, back to the question why somebody find success in these detox foods while others fail miserably? Well, here is the answer...
Just eating detox foods is not enough to lose weight and keeep them off. You also need to have a plan. By PLAN we mean you need have the right mindset and a good exercise regimen.
By right mindset we mean that you need to evaluate your habit or your lifestyle. If you live an unhealthy lifestyle, you are lazy to exercise, you eat food that will make you fat, you always sleep late at night, then most of the detox programs will not work for you.
In order to detox and to lose weight successfully, you need to practice the following 3 things in your daily life.
1. Eat the right foods and avoid fatten foods.
2. Exercise regularly.
3. Sleep well at night - do not sleep late at night.
To recap, detoxification works and you should eat those foods that have high cleansing properties. The human's bodies are very efficient and are designed to detox itself in a natural way if you put in healthy foods. You must also have a good exercise regimen if you are serious about losing weight and keeping those unwanted fat at bay.
