As developments in media and social networking grow, the rage over beauty had taken an even fiercer path. Just for the sake of outside appearance,many people are now brave to take even the most painful process.

It was being done before for cultural and religious reasons. But this time, it is being practiced for fashion.

It is the practice of removing body hair using different methods. Hair starts growing during puberty stage in the face, underarm, genitals, and other area. The reason why wost people remove the excess hair is to don smooth and sexy skin. We are going to discuss the methods to remove hair, from the old-school to the hi-tech, with their respective pros and cons in this article.

The most common way to remove hair is shaving. It doesn't need much other than a razor or blade and can be done at home. For a much closer shave, hair can be shaved against their direction but for a comfortable feel, it can be shaved in the direction of their growth. You shave it wet, dry, or with shaving cream. You can put on aftershave afterwards.

PROS: Inexpensive, easy, and simple.

CONS: Hair grows back after a few days;Temporary removal only.

Hair Removal Creams Also known as depilatory creams, these products are designed to dissolve the protein structure of the hair.

PROS: Readily available and easy to use.

CONS: May cause skin irrtation.

Next is Waxing. It is a semi-permanent method of removing large amounts of hair in one go. You have to distribute it on the skin until the hair embeds itself in the wax. To remove hair, the wax is pulled off in the opposite direction of the hair growth when it cools.

PROS: Quick and can be done at home; hair growing back becomes smoother.

CONS:Slight chance of ingrown hair, red bumps, and infected skin;painful and messy.

Laser Treatment. It functions by emiting light at various wavelengths. This works by controling the laser's wavelength to target areas that contain melanin, like hair follicles, and destroys them.

PROS: Simple and can treat large areas of hair at once; leaves the surrounding skin undamaged.

CONS: Expensive and works well only on people with light skin and dark coarse hair.

Electrolysis During this process, a needle is inserted beneath the skin into the hair follicle. It prevents hair from growing again because an electrical current is passed through the needle, which electrocutes and kills the hair follicle. Each hair follicle must be treated one by one.

PROS: Permanent

CONS:Repeated treatments are required. ; can cause side effects like dryness and infection.
