As a hypnotherapist it is just not rare for us to get to help people, who need help with anxiety and stress, many clients are already living with stress their whole life sometimes not really conscious that it might be demoralizing for their system. People have become comfortable to live life along with a continual build up of stress and anxiety, muscle tension and the chance of panic and anxiety related complications.

Sadly, people almost never take time to release their stress and take time on their own, take time or make the time to just let go their worries and the accumulated stress from on a daily basis responsibilities. Between working, looking after their kids, paying your bills for many, relaxing happens seated in front of the tv enjoying violent and stressful shows that hold us on the side of our seats and filled with adrenaline and tensions. Never shutting down, sleep does not really count as the heighten tensions and adrenal level prevents any kind of meaning full relaxation before morning hits. People are inclined to train themselves to work through the stress instead of taking care of developing a stress reduction routine. Some end up getting high blood pressure others with chest pain, ulcers, back problems; the list goes on.

What exactly is there to do?
Well as hypnotherapist we teach clients how to overcome these issues and here are 3 simple tricks you can begin using right now to begin the process of letting go.

Set aside some time to loosen up: On a daily basis take some time to internalize your ideas and feelings. Select a place where you can de-stress for several minutes 10-20 minutes more if you wish. A cosy place that is not really your bed is always best as your mind will not think your there to sleep and you'll focus more readily.

Just imagine: Spend some time to feel the stress, the anxiety and suppose it has a form, give it a colour and imagine it inside you, then imagine it disappearing ever more, you can imagine a solid bright light coming from the top of the head and cleaning the stress out of your body as the light moves through it. When you make this happen, unwind different parts of your body as you imagine the stress being cleansed away. Some people do that by putting tension in that part of the body and to release it entirely as you get rid of the stress. Imagine the "stress colour" being washed away as you do this. When you are done, imagine a place where one can loosen up fully and completely, perhaps a place you happen to be before or a place you would like to be, real or imagined. Repeat the process.

Alter your frame of mind: This one could be the long-term element of this process. Have a notepad and record what you currently do to deal with your stress, compose a list of those things, forget about them and burn the list! If you had been feeling the way described above, nothing you are already doing continues to be helping so instead do this. Whenever something comes about that you have no control over, let it go!

A friend of mine lost a bag of groceries on her way home recently it was worth $12.13 and was full of such thinggs as toothpaste, a magazine etc so when she noticed that she had lost it she started saying things which include, "oh god what am I going to do", bearing in mind that she did not have money problems and that the $12.13 was trivial yet it still got her to stress out as we were on our way back to the shop to see if we had forgotten the bag there. It took about 10 minutes to get back to the store and I mentioned how, the $12.13 was not the end of her and how the worse that could happen was already done an over with, not having the bag.

She would agree with me but then try to find a reason to validate her stress getting worse as we got closer to the store. From blaming herself to blaming the employees at the store her mind was looking for something to do with the stress, a direction to go, up seemed to be the direction of choice as this is what she was used to do.

As we got to the store she started looking in the car as I went inside to ask about the missing prize! When I came out, she was completely relaxed and immediately told me it was fine that she had found it.

Now why is it that we do that? Because we have done it so much that it is set on autopilot! Next time something like that happen think for a second, is it from your very own control? Is your stress going to make you better able to fix the situation? If the answer is no, create the decision to breath in, breath out and let it go. Does it stop being unfortunate you lost the bag? No but knowing there is nothing that you will be able to do with stress that will fix the situation will be enough to help you realize that you can let go. Stress is the signal to tell you to act if you want to, knowing this, it's okay to let it go when it will not be useful. $12.13 is not a life or death situation.

So unwind, visualize and police harmful thought processes and you will then get gradually better. Should you need further guidance call your helpful neighborhood Hypnotherapist.
