Estate jewelry is jewelry that is previously owned, no matter what era it's made. Estate Jewelry is truly the best value in the jewelry market today and is often appraised to facilitate a quick sale, or to help divide property for an Estate. Estate jewelry is a trend that has become popular in all levels of society. It is ideal as an heirloom to be passed down from generation to generation.

Jewelry

Jewelry, whether fine or costume, has been a part of human culture since the earliest times. Jewelry is a popular worldwide phenomenon that reflects an individual's style, wealth and even creativity.

Jewelry which is termed 'vintage' includes many decades or eras. Jewelry to be called antique should be at least 100 years old and, more recently, preowned jewelry is generally called estate. Jewelry in pristine condition is rare and commands a premium, where jewelry with apparent repairs and restoration can be devalued somewhat.

Estate

Estate jewelry ( also spelt Jewellery)is very commonly confused for retro jewelry, and antique jewelry. Estate jewelry, also known as vintage jewelry, is a fashion trend for the new millennium. Estate jewelry is most commonly sold at estate sales or online.

Vintage

Vintage jewelry can range from inexpensive to highly costly, but the act of collecting such jewelry is enjoyable for enthusiasts. Vintage jewelry dating all the way back to the Georgian era is exceedingly rare, hard to find, and, as such, is extremely sought after. Again, Vintage jewelry is over 30 years old, while antique jewelry is over 100 years old. Vintage jewelry is considered unique, and often people can't tell if the stones are real or fake since the designs are so distinctive. Vintage jewelry reflects the most distinctive or attractive design elements of a certain period, and the patterns and materials of vintage jewelry are still appealing to many people.

By definition, Estate Jewelry is a term used loosely to mean any previously owned jewelry. "Because there is a limited supply and it's usually irreplaceable, (high-end) estate jewelry is often called the 'caviar of the jewelry business'," said Michael Kazanjian, chairman of Kazanjian Bros. From modern day beauties to antique jewels, Estate Jewelry is often quite affordable and it provides a chance for you to own hard to find designs.
