These days there are heaps of toaster oven models available to purchase. One of the most luxurious and reputable models is the Breville BOV800XL. Well-known for being durable and easy to use, this is certainly the best toaster oven money can buy. So what features does it have?
The Element IQ feature might be the most important and useful of them all. Basically, it's a sensor technology that ensures that the temperature is constant inside the oven, by monitoring and adjusting the heating elements. In addition to that, the Breville BOV800XL also gives you a control panel with 9 pre-programmed functions you can use to quickly get started. Those programs can also be tweaked to your liking, so you never have to feel locked in by them. Along with the back-lit LCD display, this toaster oven is incredibly easy to get started with, even if you normally hate electronics and gadgets.
Another great feature is the crumb tray. Sure, a lot of toaster ovens have crumb trays that slide out the back, but the BOV800XL crumb tray slides out on the front instead. Definitely a lot more convenient, and a feature that'll save you both time and effort when you're done cooking and want to clean up. Another feature for your convenience is the wire rack - it actually ejects automatically when you open the door. No more burning your hands trying to get food out. This is also great if you have kids, as it will make the oven a lot safer and easier to use for them.
It's clear that the Breville engineers really thought through the design of this oven. For instance, the top surface of the oven is ribbed and embossed, which allows it to double as a warming tray. That's a rare feature among the competing models.
To our knowledge, there are just a few other toaster ovens that comes close to this one - the Cuisinart TOB-195 is one of them. At a glance it seems to have many of the same features, only at a much lower price (in some cases up to $100 lower). So the question is, why would you get the BOV800XL and pay $100 more? In this case, you should consider this: You get what you pay for. By paying a little extra you get an oven that's truly user friendly and durable, one that you will be able to use for at least 10 years to come. Yes, the TOB-195 isn't a bad toaster oven at all, but they haven't really gone that extra mile like Breville have.
All in all, this is truly a great toaster oven. If you're thinking about purchasing a new toaster oven, be sure to consider this one. You won't regret it.
