It might pose a problem when planning or setting out the guest list, but the modern bride and groom is no longer concerned with inviting as much long lost relatives and friends as possible, or making sure they have the wedding of the century.

They've become more sensible and practical. Rather spending money on a fantastic Honeymoon, new house, etc., that lasts longer, than making unnecessary debt and having a lavish, over the top, massive wedding and reception.

A destination wedding has also become very popular due to this new trend, and can be very romantic and intimate, seeing that you're only surrounded by your closest friends and family. It also makes it so much more special. During this type of wedding, many couples share even their honeymoon with friends and family. They all plan the trip together. It can be great fun! It's especially the perfect option, for older couples.

A Miami Wedding is the perfect example of a location to set the scene. Just imagine the white beaches, palm trees, great hospitality… What more could you desire?

Ofcourse having children at the wedding might pose a problem, considering there will be travelling, etc. involved. This in turn will make your guest list also so much easier to compile.

Business colleagues will also be out of the question.

A small wedding is also less planning, which equals less grey hair. Stressful wedding planning is one of the biggest causes of break-up's and divorces.

AND for those who want to take the risk, or feel adventurous… Why not elope! The only problem is you'll have to return to reality eventually and facing the in-laws and parents are inevitable. There's also missing out on meeting up with old friends again and maybe not having the dream wedding you always wanted. It all depends on each couple's individual circumstances.

Small weddings have even become a trend with celebrities. A great example is Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi or Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham.

You can find the most beautiful, small wedding chapels or even have it at a friends or your own house.
