You've seen it so many times before… In most cases a wedding is planned to the ‘T', but the weather was never taken into consideration. This can be especially disastrous and devastating to couples planning or having destination weddings or beach weddings.
An outdoor location can be very romantic and beautiful, especially if it's a Miami wedding on the beach, just always make sure you have a plan ‘B' and keep checking the weather forecast the week before the wedding, as well as consider old or past forecasts for that specific area.
A great idea is supplying guests with umbrellas. Try coordinating the colours, even style, to your wedding palette and you can even use them as props while taking photographs.
Perhaps have a tent or alternative venue on standby. A Fort Lauderdale wedding is perhaps a great option. The beach is close-by, but if you do expect rain, they have several great alternative options available.
Also, when it does rain, consider there might be wind. This is important to consider when choosing outfits - try to stay away from lighter fabrics that can blow in the wind. Also keep it in mind and mention it to your hairdresser/s. They can that make sure you have a style that will hold, come rain or shine.
Wind is also a factor when it comes to the ceremony or outdoor reception. You'll have to bear in mind that everyone might not be able to hear you, so keep a PA system, clip microphones for the bride and groom or sound technician available in case. The DJ or Band will also be able to assist you.
If you have candles, lanterns, etc. with burning flames; make sure there is a fire extinguisher on standby for any potential accidents. Safety first! Alternatively use fairy lights, electric lanterns or battery operated lighting outside. You can get such a variety these days.
The important thing is, don't let the weather stand in the way of the most important and beautiful day of your lives. Use it to your advantage instead and make it not only the most memorable, but unique occasion.
